Please check back later for more details.    Net Metering Net Metering Any electric customer in Vermont may net meter after obtaining a "Certificate of Public Good" from the Vermont Public Service Board (PSB). System capacity is limited to 15 kilowatts for certain forms of renewable-energy generation, such as solar-electric (PV) systems, wind turbine and fuel cells (fueled by renewable sources). Excess generation during a billing period is credited to the next billing period through the end of the calendar year. At the beginning of the next calendar year, any remaining credited will be granted to the utility without compensation to the customer. Sales Tax Exemption Sales Tax Exemption for Net Metering Equipment The state sales tax exemption incentive includes solar hot water, solar-electric (off-grid & utility-intertie), wind, and biomass systems. Vermont's current sales tax rate is 6%.
