Solar Boost 50
Unfortunately, conventional
controller technology does not allow a solar panel to operate at it’s maximum
power point voltage. The battery bank acts as a load on the panel, depressing
the panel’s output. The Solar Boost series of controllers, however, employ
Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). In essence, the Solar Boosttm
converts this lost voltage into additional charging current. Gains in efficiency
are greatest in cold temperatures and when the battery bank is at a low
state of charge. For this reason, the Solar Boosttm
is ideal for winter charging in cold climates. This can result in an additional
current output
