Vermont Solar Engineering provides design, installation, maintenance, and repair services for both renewable power (solar electric, wind, hydro) and solar thermal (hot water & pool heating) systems. 

Consultation
Simple design consultation is free over the phone. Most renewable power applications require a site consultation and survey. The charge for site visits is $50 plus a round-trip travel fee of 37.5 cents per mile, if located beyond Burlington, Vermont. The $50 fee will be credited to any installation in which the total of goods & services exceeds $2,000. 

System Design
The information gathered from the site visit is used to prepare a quality design and accurate estimate of your system. This includes a set of recommendations as to components, configuration, costs, and performance. This service is free (when combined with a site visit), for up to 4 hours of design labor. Complex system design requiring more time will cost an additional $50 per hour. 
Installation
We will install your system at an hourly rate of $50 per person-hr. Travel to and from the job site will be billed at 37.5 cents per mile, plus a round-trip travel fee of $25 per hour per crew member, if located outside of Burlington, VT.  To insure safe and reliable operation, all our installations are performed in accordance with applicable plumbing and electrical codes. Workmanship is guaranteed for a period of 3 years from the date of completion. This does not include components, which are covered for various lengths of time under the respective manufacturer’s warranty. We honor factory warranties directly on all equipment we sell.  We will repair / replace any defective component free of labor charges within the first year of its respective warranty. 

Service and Repair
We charge $50 per person-hr, plus any required parts & materials. Travel to and from the job site will be billed at 37.5 cents per mile, if located outside of Burlington, Vermont. Repair work is generally guaranteed for a period of 1 year from the date of completion, depending upon system age & condition. This does not include components, which are covered for various lengths of time under the respective manufacturer’s warranty. 

Inspection / Maintenance
We encourage our customers to take responsibility for their energy independence by learning to perform routine monitoring / maintenance of their systems. We also provide service contracts to those who wish one. Please call for details.
